Boutique Studios at the 2012 Vancouver Wedding Fair

We had a wonderful time at the Vancouver Wedding Fair this past weekend! So many brides to be, husbands to be, families, and great vendors. Lots of couples already getting started on their 2013 weddings! We like planners! We met some amazing vendors as well, and really wanted to share their info, to help with planning your big day! Bobbi Jo at Fly Away Weddings and Honeymoons is someone who would be key in planning your destination wedding. With many years experience under her belt, she can take care of all those little details, so you can relax and enjoy the moment. And keep in mind that Boutique Studios LOVES to photograph destination weddings!

And if you are planning a BC wedding, we were introduced to some great locations! Painted Boat Resort on the Sunshine Coast, Nicklaus North Golf Course in Whistler, (check out Kat and Dave’s wedding post from earlier this year shot at Nicklaus North), Crystal Lodge also in Whistler, and The Waldorf Hotel in Vancouver,who believe it or not, have been open for 63 years and just had some major renovations done! These are all great spots for a wedding!

And lastly the lovely booth that was beside us, The Tux Store! The owner and the girls working at the booth were so sweet and great neighbors for the weekend! They supply awesome formal wear, the perfect thing to make your guy look amazing!

Can’t wait to get started on all the exciting weddings this year!

Kat & Dave- Whistler Wedding Photography

You may remember Kat and Dave from earlier this year, they have a cute love story that crosses the ocean. They decided that the best place for their wedding would be in Whistler since Kat’s family was coming in from overseas, they would get to see both Vancouver and Whistler. Nicklaus North Golf Course was a perfect fit, beautiful view and breathtaking scenery! Their day turned out to be one of the hottest day of the summer! The day was super hot, but absolutely gorgeous, and Kat and Dave had no problem trekking all over the course to get the perfect photos. We had a blast with them, and their wedding party, and all the wonderful guests that were there to share in their special day.

Vancouver Wedding Fair 2012

Its that time of year again!! Engagement rings are flying out of stores, and onto fingers…. Dresses are being tried on, over and over again… And all the planning starts coming together! This weekend is the 33rd annual Vancouver Wedding Fair, and once again Boutique Studios is super excited to be a part of it! Come down to the Westin Bayshore and visit us at our booth! There will be lots of different things to see, and make sure you stop by and enter your name into the fabulous contest that we are throwing. One lucky winner will win a 1 hour boudoir shoot with Boutique Studios, as well as a gift certificate to Goldfish restaurant, and 2 tickets to the Winnipeg Ballet! Can’t wait to see you this weekend!

Leigh and Danny – Vancouver Wedding Photography

We met Leigh and Danny at the beginning of the summer, you might remember their engagement session from earlier this year at Granville Island. As soon as I met them I knew this was going to be a great wedding! They are both super active (they did Ironman together!) and a super sweet, really fun couple. They are absolutely lovely to work with. Their day was one of those typical Vancouver days, threatening rain clouds and umbrella’s ready to be used, but low and behold, the sun came out and made the day perfect!

Leigh got ready at her parents house where she grew up, and her mom even had one of the rooms set up, just for Leigh to get ready! From there we went to UBC for their beautiful ceremony. Leigh and Danny got married at the Chapel of the Epiphany . This was such a beautiful location, with big bright windows, and gorgeous rock walls. After the ceremony we went around the campus with the bridal party and found some great spots. Marcee and I had so much fun with the group, they were coming up with all sorts of funny ideas. Once we got to the reception at University Golf Club we decided to do a few more portraits down in the gazebo. We had such a beautiful day with them, and their family and friends, and wish them so much love for all their years to come!

Lina and Rikkert part 2 – Steveston Wedding Photography

A few days ago we posted some amazing photos of the intimate wedding of Lina and Rikkert. Their small ceremony was held at a great little restaurant in Steveston, with only close family and friends. Lina and Rikkert Part 1-Vancouver Wedding Photography

Lina and Rikkert are such a lovely couple. They were referred to Boutique Studios by Melanie of Mink Makeup and Hair (thanks Mel!!) and we all clicked right away. They got married on a beautiful Saturday in Steveston, and decided to have a small wedding with their loved ones. The venue was wonderful and intimate, perfect for their day. When Lina and Rikkert first moved to Steveston from Vancouver they looked hard for a restaurant that made them feel like they were still downtown. In their search they came across Gudrun, a tasting room that offers local and organic product. After many meals in this great restaurant, they decided that they wanted to have their wedding there to share with their family and friends. What a fantastic day with these two, and all of their loves, including Lina’s parents who flew from Sweden for the big day! Much love to you both as you start this wonderful new adventure!

Paul and Melissa Get Engaged! The Video

We posted the other week some photos of Paul and Melissa and his super cute secret mission to ask Melissa to marry him… well here is the video footage that we also took for them… this is so cute!! I love the song, Paul wrote it himself! So gentlemen, he has set the bar pretty high… 2 year anniversary at the same restaurant they had their first date, hand written song and a backup band!

Aniela and Chris – Sunshine Coast Wedding Videography

We met Aniela and Chris in July when they were looking for a wedding videographer. We had shot her friends wedding, Susanna and Jeremy, and they thought to look us up. These two are so made for each other, they were super cute and I could tell their day was going to be so special. Their wedding was at Westcoast Wilderness Lodge, which has special meaning for them, it’s where Chris proposed!! Having shot there last summer we knew what a great day it was going to be!!

Jen and Blake-Vancouver Engagement Photography

Marcee joined our team a couple of years ago, since then she has been an integral part of the day to day of Boutique Studios and Kari Heese Photography. We are very lucky to have such an enthusiastic beautiful person that is full of great ideas. She is a lover of love and all things photographic, and she has an innate ability to make everyone around her smile. Here are a few of the wedding shots that she has recently taken.
